RYA Courses at NUSC

NUSC has been an RYA recognised Shorebased training centre for many years. The Club offers:

RYA / DoT Yachtmaster classes
RYA Dayskipper classes
The Short Range Certificate for VHF licensing
The RYA diesel engine course

The Yachtmaster and Dayskipper classes start in the Autumn, with enrolment in early September. The courses take place between 1900 hrs and 2100 hrs on a Tuesday evening finishing about the end of March. Tuesday evening is the night of the weekly club social meeting, and class members are warmly welcomed to join in and to use the club facilities. Indeed, many of those who first came to a class have subsequently joined us as full members.

Both SRC courses and the Diesel engine courses take place on several dates during the year according to demand. If you are thinking of taking one of these courses, please register your interest with the training officer who will let you know when the next class is taking place.

NUSC is also authorised to test and examine for the International Certificate of Competence including the test for the CEVNI endorsement. The ICC tests are arranged on demand during the sailing season . Contact the training officer for details.
