There is an issue with some moorings where the anchors are exposed in such a way that they could be hazardous to other vessels.
Location of these exposed anchors is between A and B trot directly outside the club house many of us have seen these.
It is the mooring owners responsibility to resolve this issue as we know. Therefore The owners of the mooring directly outside the clubhouse with the exposed anchors are expected to help sink those mooring anchors on this date.
This is a considerable task as there are about 7 anchors exposed. Therefore I am appealing to the wider club to assist those members.
We will make work hours available to those members who assist who do not own those moorings as resolving this problem will help the club ensure we are able to navigate near the club safely.
You will need to bring spades and I was thinking if anyone had pallets so we could stand on them so as not to sink in the deep mud around there.
If owners are considering removing their existing anchor and replacing with a screw then please seek advice on where these are available to buy. Remembering you will need a way of securing the anchor line to the anchor. All owners will probably require a new shackle I have those for sale.
N.B. If not resolved an additional date may be required, which I suggest is the following week.
